Just another day.....

It is only Jan 5Th and i am pretty sure i have failed at every New Years resolution i made, but i am still working at them. I really did not officially start until the 3rd as my B-day was on the 2Nd....so in two days i have broken all ten of my resolutions...that has to be some sort of record.

So it has been super cold over the past few weeks at night, I am not use to this cold and bitch about it all the time, it is for casted to drop below freezing on Wed and not to rise above freezing temperatures until Saturday mid afternoon. Secretly I would not mind a small little ice storm so i can take some pics with my new camera. (as long as with that ice there are no traffic accidents and no one falls and gets hurt) I will try to post some pics from the ice storm a few years ago if i can find them.

New Year Resolutions....

Well of course one of my resolutions is to actually blog this year.....but about real life. Everyone has this fufu i am so frigging wonderful, so is everyone and everything around me blog. Let's face it who the hecks life is really like that? So i am going to start the year with my resolutions for the year.

1. get organized
2. cuss less
3. eat healthier
4. exercise
5. loose 30 lbs.
6. do my hair and make up 3x a week
7. keep a cleaner house
8. try to step up my skills at work
9. be nicer
10. BLOG about real life at least 3x a week

So as you can see i am not taking the new year lightly this year!!!!!

It has been a while....

Ok it has been a long long time since i have updated my blog. I still wonder why i have this blog but any who. I went to Cali the end of May First week in June for my babies graduation. It is still hard for me to believe he is growing up. It seems as it was just yesterday that i was holing that little 6lb 11oz little boy in the hospital. Graduation was great and i am so proud of Dalton.

The Chicks on a rainy day.....

One day last week it was nice and cool and rainy out, so i had the back door open. Silly me.....SO as you can see the chicks decided to come in out of the rain. (please excuse the dirt on the floor I REPEAT never have three dogs....with wood floors and leave the back door open during the rain, or the summer when they like to swim)

The FInal Five

Well we started with 8 now we have Five chicks. Two of the originals ended up being rooster and one was a meat bird. The pictures are not very good . The pictures below are, one of the sisters, Gladis, Phylis and the other Sister. FlashDance, and then they chicken coop John and his father built for my chicks.

More Birds....

Well i have had a few new visitors this past week the Blue Jay has been around for a few weeks and is very very NOISY but the yellow and blue colored birds made their appearance ate for a few days and have not been seen since. Unless they are just coming in the 23 hours i am not watching my feeders. That is what i am hoping for because they were gorgeous. I did identify they blue colored bird with Johns moms bird book.....but i forgot what kind of bird it is.

Ok so today John needed to run to walmart to pick up a new air condition filter. I thought why now get out of my PJ's and go along with him........so on the way back this is what i see. Yes i rushed right home and grabbed the camera and drove back to snap a few photos. WTheck.....it was really amazing i could have walk around this bus and looked for hours. I did not speak to the owners as the must have been in a near by business, but i really would of loved chatting with them.

Birds....

I have come to realize that some days just watching the birds at my feeders is very relaxing. I have two regular feeders, one flat feeder, one Humming bird feeder, and i just purchased a suet cage feeder yesterday oh and a bird bath .Needless to say....i have TONS of birds in the backyard. Just to name a few, Cardinals, Blue Bird, Finches, Doves, Sparrows, tons i have no idea what they are, and the Robins and Blue Martins visit my bird bath on occasion. Here are a few pics i have taken.

My blog

I am not sure why i ever got this dumb blog i never update it. So as of today i am going to post at least 2 times a week. I should have plenty to post about, between, surgeries, chicks, gardening, work, birdwatching and my sons graduation i should be able to post tons of stuff.

Just a little book

Well a few weeks ago i started this book, had a little set back and finished the last page today.

Here the ornaments i made for my friend LeAnns' children, every year i buy each of them an ornament, as i do for my son. I decided this year that when they are of age and move out i will buy their first Christmas tree so they will have a place to hang their ornaments from the years prior. Since i could not afford the to spend $$$$$$ on all the items for the 12 tags of Christmas. i just made a few simple tags with some vintage images i found for FREE off the Internet. I am off to try to make some ornaments.

Calender Swap...

Splash Cafe......MMMMMMMM

Well here it is Splash Cafe, known for it's award winning clam chowder. I have been enjoying their Clam Chowder since they opened in 1989. I read on their web page they serve more than 15,000 gallons of Chowder a year. It is best in a sour dough bread bowl but that is way more than i could ever imagine eating, so i always opt for a small bowl with a slice or two of sour dough bread on the side. It is the creamiest richest chowder i have ever tasted. I was really lucky the day i went i walked right in ........i have seen the line out the door and half way around the block.

My Me Day In Cali....

The day before i left to fly back to TX .......I was tired, i was irritable, i was ready for my big bathtub and my own bed.......so i decided on a ME day. I drove 100 miles for a bowl of Clam Chowder, to Splash Cafe in Pismo Beach CA. I snapped this pic while i was there of an empty beach on a Wednesday afternoon......did i mention it was 63 degrees and the wind was blowing like crazy. More to come later on my me day.....

Finally Home....

After being in Cali for a week i finally made it to my home town for a dinner out with the girls for Michelle's B-day. We had planned this dinner the minute we found out i was going to be in Cali. So Friday afternoon i sunk away from the hospital and off to Taft i went. We had a blast, but i stayed up way to late and had to get up way to early to head back to Bako.....but good news my father got to come home late Saturday evening.

Not so far from home......

There is one never fail thing i can find from cali when i need something from home.....produce!!! Today while i was grocery shopping i picked up a pint of strawberries.To my surprise when i got home i noticed they were from Santa Maria.....just about 15 miles from where my grandfather lived when i was a child and still has a house just a few blocks from the beach in Pismo Beach

After i got home from shopping i carefully picked what i thought would be the best strawberry in the basket...........for a split seconded after that first bite of fresh ripe strawberry....i was taken back to the road side strawberry stand surrounded by rows and rows of green strawberry bushes dotted with fresh red ripe ready to be picked berries just a few blocks from my grandfathers house. That dampness and scent of the ocean air....what i would do to be there right now.

When i am in Cali next week i won't get to visit that strawberry stand as it is almost two hours from where my parents live.....but i will always have the memories......in any basket of berries.

Say it Like it is....

This is Annette and I Saturday at a class we took at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie. The class taught by Caroline one of the owners of Maya Road. What a great time we all had.....after i finish my house i will have to post it.

Anywhoo the real reason i posted this picture is to explain "Say it like it is"

I never realized until i meet Annette just how bold of a person I am......that is how i got the name for my blog. I received a b-day card from Annette and in it she mention i was a "say it like it is gal" I never looked at myself like that until Annette. Thanks Annette

BFF

One of my newest projects......I used a few new tecniques and i loved the way it turned out.

Nothing exciting....

The past few days it has been rainy and yucky. Despite all that i did find time to make this card. I was inspired by a pic i found and combined it with a class i took last year and this is what i have.

I am getting so excited i am going to be taking a fabulous class next week at the scrap book store i can't wait.
