Here the ornaments i made for my friend LeAnns' children, every year i buy each of them an ornament, as i do for my son. I decided this year that when they are of age and move out i will buy their first Christmas tree so they will have a place to hang their ornaments from the years prior. The images came from http://clearlyvintage.blogspot.com/
I will try to take some better pictures but with the holidays fast approaching who knows if this will happen or not.

Splash Cafe......MMMMMMMM

Well here it is Splash Cafe, known for it's award winning clam chowder. I have been enjoying their Clam Chowder since they opened in 1989. I read on their web page they serve more than 15,000 gallons of Chowder a year. It is best in a sour dough bread bowl but that is way more than i could ever imagine eating, so i always opt for a small bowl with a slice or two of sour dough bread on the side. It is the creamiest richest chowder i have ever tasted. I was really lucky the day i went i walked right in ........i have seen the line out the door and half way around the block.

My Me Day In Cali....

The day before i left to fly back to TX .......I was tired, i was irritable, i was ready for my big bathtub and my own bed.......so i decided on a ME day. I drove 100 miles for a bowl of Clam Chowder, to Splash Cafe in Pismo Beach CA. I snapped this pic while i was there of an empty beach on a Wednesday afternoon......did i mention it was 63 degrees and the wind was blowing like crazy. More to come later on my me day.....

Finally Home....

After being in Cali for a week i finally made it to my home town for a dinner out with the girls for Michelle's B-day. We had planned this dinner the minute we found out i was going to be in Cali. So Friday afternoon i sunk away from the hospital and off to Taft i went. We had a blast, but i stayed up way to late and had to get up way to early to head back to Bako.....but good news my father got to come home late Saturday evening.

Not so far from home......

There is one never fail thing i can find from cali when i need something from home.....produce!!! Today while i was grocery shopping i picked up a pint of strawberries. To my surprise when i got home i noticed they were from Santa Maria.....just about 15 miles from where my grandfather lived when i was a child and still has a house just a few blocks from the beach in Pismo Beach

After i got home from shopping i carefully picked what i thought would be the best strawberry in the basket...........for a split seconded after that first bite of fresh ripe strawberry....i was taken back to the road side strawberry stand surrounded by rows and rows of green strawberry bushes dotted with fresh red ripe ready to be picked berries just a few blocks from my grandfathers house. That dampness and scent of the ocean air....what i would do to be there right now.

When i am in Cali next week i won't get to visit that strawberry stand as it is almost two hours from where my parents live.....but i will always have the memories......in any basket of berries.

Say it Like it is....

This is Annette and I Saturday at a class we took at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie. The class taught by Caroline one of the owners of Maya Road. What a great time we all had.....after i finish my house i will have to post it.

Anywhoo the real reason i posted this picture is to explain "Say it like it is"

I never realized until i meet Annette just how bold of a person I am......that is how i got the name for my blog. I received a b-day card from Annette and in it she mention i was a "say it like it is gal" I never looked at myself like that until Annette. Thanks Annette

Blog Challenge from 2/28/08.....The Crafty Scrapper.

I remembered that Brook had posted this challenge last month and since i now have a blog....and Carolyn does not think i like her i thought i would blog about The Crafty Scrapper.

My mother always tells me things happen for a reason, and after i starting thinking about how and why i found The Crafty Scrapper almost two years ago I think she is right. Well of course she is right she is my mother.

I decided one day to make a baby book for ome of my BFF'S from Cali. (BFF= best friends forever, i know sooooo jr. high but that is how long we have been friends) I had been browsing a magazine and found the perfect paper to use on my BFF'S book. The problem was i had only done one small project before and I had only been in TX a few months so i had NO clue where to shop, i had to get on the internet look up the paper company, find a list of store that carrie their product.........finally after a few calls I got lucky The Crafty Scrapper had the paper i wanted and I got Carolyn on the other end of the phone. That night after work i drove to Waxahachie and I met Carolyn for the first time.

What i find so ironic about this story is........it was one of my BFF from Cali who led me to meet such a wonderful group of ladies, with whom i am now friends. The Crafty Scrapper has become my second home and my new family.

So Carolyn if you read this i do not like you......I LOVE YOU....along with everyone else on the Crafty Crew, and the lounge ladies of The Crafty Scrapper. I just give you a hard time about ths scissors cause it make me laught that you will use a perfect pair of scisorrs to cut a rock if that is what you need for a layout.

I love Spring time in TX

I noticed a few days ago on my drive home from Waxahachie that spring is starting to peak up. The brown dead foliage is starting to show life, before we know every blade of brown grass will be replaced by the new lush green grass and wildflowers of Spring.

This will be my third Spring in Texas and i am sure i will be in awww as i have been the past 2 years. I am usually overwhelmed at some point during spring by the pure beauty of a Texas Spring day. The rich green grass, and the contrasting colors of the Bluebonnets and other wild flower, is breathtaking.
I took this picture of the Bluebonnets last year. I usually take a nice warm day and drive around taking pictures. Last year i took pictures only around Ennis, only where my little Honda Scooter would take me. The warm air on my skin and the fresh scent of spring made for a perfect day.
I wanted to included this picture i took when i was in California last year. This is just on the edge of the town where i grew up. Yes i know where are the palm trees and beach....well i lived in the desert of Cali. Now i am sure you will all understand why I love the Spring in Texas.
The two pictures were taken within about 10 days of each other.

VEGAS......Feb 6-10 2008

Well i went to vegas well over a month ago but i thought why not blog about the trip anyway. It was four nights and five fabulous days. I flew out on Wed Feb 6th and met one friend for the first two days then everyone else arrived on Friday.
The first two days we ate and i drank a few more adult beverages than i should have. We stayed at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, it was
beautiful. Every meal we at was fabulous, and we even went to see The Blue Man Group. The memories of those 2 days will forever and always be with me.
The last two days. We had just as much fun. We had so much fun we are going to do an annual trip....but i said it once and i will say it again, next year i am going to sleep less, and drink and eat more.

I am really not a blogger

The only reason i got this blog.....is well i want to be just like everyone else. So as of right now i am making a commitment that i will blog every other day for the next month. Even if it is about NOTHING. Although no one reads this so i am not sure who will hold me accountable.
